We were delighted that the Mayor of the City and District of St Albans, Cllr Councillor Mohammad Iqbal Zia, and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Jamie Day, both attended Youth Talk’s 20th anniversary celebration Ceilidh on Saturday, November 4. They were accompanied respectively by the Mayoress, Mrs Farhat Zia and the Deputy Mayoress, Mrs Elizabeth Day. The Mayor said: “Youth Talk is a fantastic charity that provides access to much-needed confidential counselling for young people who live, work or are in education in the District. The charity has done a wonderful job helping more than 2,600 young people over the past 20 years and I hope that it continues to offer its valuable service for many years to come. When I was made Mayor I was delighted to be able to offer my support to Youth Talk by selecting it as my charity for the year. I am hosting a number of events to raise money for Youth Talk in the months to come, including the Mayor’s charity banquet on 9 March 2018. Please show your support for Youth Talk by coming along to this event.”
